Trauma-Informed Care in the Perinatal Setting
Download (PowerPoint)

Trauma Informed Care was developed with the UCSF in conjunction with the American College of Surgeons. The need for a Trauma-informed Curriculum is predicated on the need to understand both the impact of the Social Determinants of Health and the impact of Adverse Childhood Events (ACE’s) and its manifestations. The goal is to recognize the presentation of trauma in our patients and clients and to identify and render appropriate care. Given the likelihood of prevalence amongst the perinatal patient population, TIC is applicable and necessary for all involved in the patient’s care.
