Spinning Babies^® asks a new question, “Where is baby?” Learn fresh solutions for long, painful labors, fetal malposition (posterior, asynclitic, etc.), or labor dystocia. More than techniques, we teach you to see birth with eyes for anatomy. We believe baby’s position is just a clue. Address pelvic muscles with slow, sustained stretches and fascia techniques. It’s as simple as “making room for baby.”

Who are these workshops for?

This workshop is open to all professionals who serve people during pregnancy and birth. Specialties may include midwives, nurses, doctors, childbirth educators, doulas, prenatal yoga instructors, chiropractors, massage therapists, fascial therapy practitioners, and community health workers.  Certification of Attendance is not a certification in Spinning Babies^®. These workshops will be led by an approved instructor, Tammy Ryan AdvCBD/BDT(DONA), SpBT.   A complimentary lunch will be provided.

Topics discussed include:

• A new premise for childbirth ease and labor progress for the experienced provider.
• Exploration of the role of “Soft Tissues” in pregnancy, labor, and fetal position (muscles, ligaments, connective tissue)
• Common causes and effects of posterior position on pregnancy and labor
• Fetal Positioning and labor progress
• Resolving the stalled labor
• Practice activities for pregnancy comfort, spontaneous birth as nature intended, and cesarean avoidance
• Identifying a stall in labor via labor pattern and match technique

Reassess “what you know” and take birth care to the next level. Use your wisdom better. Techniques based on soft tissue anatomy like no other birth workshop. You will be able to identify and help pregnant and birthing women with a new approach to comfort, pain relief, fetal positioning, and labor progress.

Instructor:

Tammy Ryan has been attending births since 2002. She is a birth doula trainer for DONA International, childbirth educator, midwifery assistant and one of 15 trainers worldwide for Spinning Babies.  She started working Internationally in 2008 when she went to DR Congo to train lifesaving skills in childbirth according to the World Health Organization. She has served in Haiti, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Kenya, Korea, Japan, India, Israel & Brazil.
