Dr. Zimmerman will provide an overview on validated screening tools and highlight strategies for overcoming barriers, fostering trust, and reducing stigma in clinical settings.

Martha Zimmermann is a licensed clinical psychologist and Assistant Professor at the Lifeline for Moms program, Lifeline for Families Center, and Implementation Science and Practice Advances Research Center (iSPARC), in the Department of Psychiatry at UMass Chan Medical School. Dr. Zimmermann’s research focuses on preventing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and improving access to perinatal mental health care. She uses implementation science and community-engaged approaches to develop scalable interventions that will reach populations that face barriers to accessing care.
