Weave WV Training – Domestic Violence and Substance Use Safety Planning in Current Relationships and Post-Treatment

Safety planning, an essential component in working with people experiencing intimate partner violence, is especially critical when the survivor is still in relationship with the abusive partner. For those also experiencing substance use coercion and are post-treatment, adding safety measures to the plan that focus on these areas is essential. This session will explore using a survivor-led, individualized approach to safety planning that looks at ways to protect from harm and reduce further risk, especially around substance use coercion/post-treatment in current relationships. Focus will include identifying specific concerns, helpful questions to ask, exploring options, increasing safety in various situations, resources, and other information.
