This report analyzes the prevalence of drug use among pregnant patients in certain West Virginia populations.

The prevalence of drug use in any population is essential to those planning, funding and
testing interventions to address that incidence. This study indicates that nineteen percent, almost one in five babies born during the period of study in these 8 diverse
West Virginia hospitals had evidence of drug or alcohol exposure.
