Labor and delivery nurses play an essential role in ensuring healthy, satisfying birth and breastfeeding initiation. The Lamaze Evidence-Based Labor Support Workshop educates labor and delivery nurses to create the bridge between knowledge and practice. Continuing Nursing Education Credits (CNE) and 7.50 Lamaze Contact Hours are awarded.

100 %

All West Virginia hospitals have participated in the EBLS course by hosting the workshop or by sending their intrapartum nurses to a nearby session.

Workshop Benefits

  • Improve critical labor support skills, including labor positions, non-pharmacological comfort measures, shared decision-making and more
  • Identify strategies to improve patient satisfaction and perinatal quality improvement measures
  • Boost your confidence knowing that the supportive care you are providing during labor is evidence-based
  • Increase your knowledge and understanding of the role you play in improving Joint Commission Perinatal Care Core Measures relating to elective delivery, cesarean birth, and breastfeeding.

“Nurses are very excited to attend this workshop where we practice hands-on techniques for easing labor and achieving vaginal delivery. We use a wide variety of tools and techniques such as aroma therapy, rebozo techniques, massage, and positioning with birth and peanut balls. These techniques can make all the difference!”
