SUMMARY:Monthly Love Your Birth Control Virtual Training
DESCRIPTION:Monthly Webinar Series – “Empowering women to choose the birth control method that works for them!” \nEmpowering women to choose the birth control method that works for them! \n\n\nFollowing the training\, participants can request to receive the materials discussed for use in their practice. Materials include posters for clinics and offices\, education grids for patient discussions\, and patient education cards for handouts to clients. All materials are commercial-free and provided at no cost to training participants. \n\n\nBy the end of this presentation\, participants will be able to: \n\n\nList different methods of contraception\, their uses\, and risks and benefits of each\, including resources for factual information about different methods of contraception and myths about birth control\nDemonstrate methods for assisting women to learn about birth control using a client-led approach and interactive education grid\nIdentify ways to build rapport\, and overcome barriers to access to contraception\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThese trainings are offered once per month. Register above. \nTrainings are appropriate for clinical and non-clinical staff\, as using the same reassuring and non-judgmental language is imperative to build rapport and allow free flow of information.\nCEUs and CME’s will be provided.\n  \nIf you are interested in having a site-specific training\, an in-person or virtual training can be planned for your office. SUMMARY:AWHONN Obstetric Patient Safety OB Emergencies Workshop
DESCRIPTION:The OPS workshop is designed to help clinicians work together as a team using effective communication to identify\, assess\, and manage the care for patients with an obstetric emergency through simulation and debriefing. Clinicians working in the following departments: perinatal\, emergency\, medical-surgical\, ICU\, and critical access will find this course essential to caring for patients experiencing an obstetric emergency. \nLocation\nWest Virginia Wesleyan College Department of Nursing\nMiddleton Hall\, Camden Avenue\, Buckhannon\, WV \nLearning Outcomes\n\nIdentify key factors that place the patient at higher risk for an obstetric emergency.\nDemonstrate effective management for pregnant or postpartum person during an obstetric emergency.\nRole-play with a multidisciplinary team using simulation-based cognitive\, behavioral\, and technical learning strategies to practice management of a patient experiencing an obstetric emergency.\n\nParticipant Materials\n\nThe cost is $120 and can be purchased through the AWHONN Store (After purchasing the Workshop\, an email will be sent that contains your participant code and the website to access the prerequisite). Materials are free of charge for this course.\nAll materials are downloadable from your AWHONN webpage under “My Orders & Downloads.”\nNursing contact hours or CME: 10.75 Expires: May 31\, 2028\n\nNOTE: Successful completion of the prerequisite course is required prior to attending the live portion of the Workshop.
