DESCRIPTION:Join Us for a Free Webinar\nFriday\, August 1\, 2025\n12:00 – 1:00 pm\nThis interactive workshop is designed to increase awareness\, understanding\, and culturally grounded responses to perinatal mental health challenges. \nTarget Audience\nTherapists\, healthcare professionals\, doulas\, and community advocates seeking to provide compassionate\, respectful\, and culturally attuned care during the perinatal period. \nBy the end of this presentation\, participants should be able to:\n\nDescribe the unique risk factors and protective factors related to perinatal mental health among vulnerable populations.\nPerform screening and assessments using culturally appropriate language to support patients’ willingness to respond openly.\nIdentify culturally informed and trauma-responsive interventions that support perinatal mental wellness.\nDiscuss systemic barriers impacting diagnosis\, treatment\, and follow-up care.\n\nSpeaker\nJerica Wesley\, Ph.D.\, LPC\, ALPS\nOwner\, Restored Wellness Life\nEnrichment Services\, LLC \nDr. Jerica Wesley is a licensed professional counselor who has supported the Kanawha Valley for over a decade. She currently works as a counselor educator and has previously worked as a school and community mental health counselor. She is passionate about decreasing stigma around mental health and has advanced training in perinatal mental health\, reproductive loss\, grief\, bereavement\, and culturally sensitive counseling. SUMMARY:Monthly Love Your Birth Control Virtual Training
DESCRIPTION:Monthly Webinar Series – “Empowering women to choose the birth control method that works for them!” \nEmpowering women to choose the birth control method that works for them! \n\n\nFollowing the training\, participants can request to receive the materials discussed for use in their practice. Materials include posters for clinics and offices\, education grids for patient discussions\, and patient education cards for handouts to clients. All materials are commercial-free and provided at no cost to training participants. \n\n\nBy the end of this presentation\, participants will be able to: \n\n\nList different methods of contraception\, their uses\, and risks and benefits of each\, including resources for factual information about different methods of contraception and myths about birth control\nDemonstrate methods for assisting women to learn about birth control using a client-led approach and interactive education grid\nIdentify ways to build rapport\, and overcome barriers to access to contraception\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThese trainings are offered once per month. Register above. \nTrainings are appropriate for clinical and non-clinical staff\, as using the same reassuring and non-judgmental language is imperative to build rapport and allow free flow of information.\nCEUs and CME’s will be provided.\n  \nIf you are interested in having a site-specific training\, an in-person or virtual training can be planned for your office.
